OSA 5401 Series
Save space and cost without compromise
Our OSA 5401 Series is a family of highly accurate and uniquely efficient small form-factor pluggable (SFP) GNSS receivers and grandmaster clocks with the smallest footprint and most compact design on the market. With its entirely new timing distribution architecture, it meets the stringent synchronization requirements of today’s radio access networks. The devices’ small size and low-touch provisioning enable them to be deployed in the most space-restrictive locations. They’re also low-cost solutions that consume minimal energy and need no additional power source or real estate. With the addition of the OSA 5401XG, the series now brings the same no-compromise performance to 10Gbit/s infrastructure, with multi-band GNSS and support for additional constellations such as IRNSS for enhanced timing accuracy and regional compliance.
A huge range of functionality
Our OSA 5401 Series combines small size with high performance and includes advanced features such as Syncjack™, PTP, NTP, SyncE, spoofing detection and extended holdover.

This technology gives network operators a cost-effective migration path for deploying strong phase and frequency synchronization deep in radio access networks.
Precise timing in every industry
From mobile and utilities to finance and broadcast, the OSA 5401 SyncPlug™ Series integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure to deliver precise synchronization.

Small form factor, wide range of features
The optimized dual-frequency GNSS receiver on our OSA 5401 Series achieves excellent performance, even in urban canyons where small cells are often deployed. Generating phenomenal PTP phase and frequency synchronization for traditional base station and small cell network deployments, the technology gives network operators a cost-effective migration path for deploying strong synchronization deep in radio access networks. It also integrates with existing network elements. With the OSA 5401XG, operators gain multi-band GNSS, enhanced spoofing and jamming detection, extended holdover options and compliance with PRTC-B, and support for multiple GNSS constellations – including IRNSS – making it ideal for modernizing 10Gbit/s networks in the most space- and power-constrained environments.
Sync in the most challenging environments
The agility and efficiency of our OSA 5401 Series enable precise phase synchronization even when GNSS signals are weak or compromised.

Major cost savings
Our OSA 5401 Series provides space and energy efficiency for significant savings in installation and engineering costs. Fully compliant with multi-source agreements for total interoperability, the devices function as GNSS receivers, sources of Synchronous Ethernet and grandmaster clocks. They support both Layer 2 and Layer 3 PTP transport and are capable of unicasting and multicasting simultaneously. The OSA 5401XG extends this with 10Gbit/s host compatibility, multi-regional navigation support and up to 500,000 NTP transactions per second.
