Nir Laufer to explore the potential of AI and ML for GNSS monitoring and assurance

WSTS session will examine how the technology could minimize jamming and spoofing

  • Speakers: Nir Laufer, senior director, product line management, Oscilloquartz
  • Topics: Mitigating GNSS jamming and spoofing using artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • When: Thursday, March 28, 3:10 p.m.
  • Where: ATIS, Workshop on Synchronization and Timing Systems, DoubleTree by Hilton, San Jose, California, USA

With more GNSS receivers being used in critical infrastructures, GNSS vulnerabilities are becoming a major concern. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have enormous potential to revolutionize network performance monitoring and diagnostics. Network synchronization assurance and GNSS assurance in particular are areas where this technology could have a major impact.

In this session, Nir Laufer will review challenges and limitations of the existing distributed approach for GNSS monitoring and assurance. He will than review the advantages of the centralized approach, before exploring data and looking into methods that could be unitized for centralized GNSS monitoring. Nir will discuss whether ML-based systems using AI could provide the answer to mitigating GNSS vulnerabilities such as jamming and spoofing.

Delegates to WSTS can also see this pioneering ML-based sync monitoring and assurance technology demonstrated live at the Oscilloquartz booth.
