Alyona Diachenko provides an overview of assured PNT solutions at WSTS 2024

Presentation will explain threats to GNSS accuracy and detail alternative methods of acquiring accurate PNT data, including leveraging SoOp

  • Speakers: Alyona Diachenko, AVP of business development Americas at Oscilloquartz, Adtran
  • Topics: Resilience of alternate PNT compared to traditional PNT systems
  • When: Wednesday, May 8, 9:15 a.m. PDT
  • Where: Workshop on synchronization and timing systems (WSTS) 2024, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, San Diego, California, USA https://wsts.atis.org

Assured positioning navigation and timing (aPNT) systems are robust alternatives or augments to traditional GNSS-dependent PNT. They leverage diverse technologies, including optically pumped cesium clocks, space-based and non-space-based PNT, and signals of opportunity (SoOp). Some solutions can even function in GNSS-denied environments, providing a highly precise source of location and time-based services.

In this session, Alyona Diachenko will discuss alternative technologies that can augment legacy GNSS-based timing. She will explain how signals of opportunity leverage broadcast signals, communication satellites and technology such as Wi-Fi to derive accurate PNT information and how this diversification of timing sources renders PNT systems more robust and reliable.
