Ken Hann explores synchronization in a virtual environment at WSTS

Presentation will discuss the evolution of network timing and how tomorrow’s biggest sync challenges can be met

  • Speaker: Ken Hann, senior director, R&D, Oscilloquartz, ADVA
  • Topics: Syncing the cloud
  • When: Tuesday, May 10, 9:45 a.m. MT
  • Where: Workshop on Synchronization and Timing Systems: Denver Downtown Convention Center, Denver, Colorado, USA: https://wsts.atis.org/conference/register/

Network synchronization has come a long way, from native telecoms sync (TDM, SDH/SONET) through sync as a service (SyncE, PTP; 4G and 5G), to synchronization as an enabler of virtual services in open compute servers like TAP.

In this WSTS talk, Ken Hann will explore how network timing technology has evolved. The session will cover methods for bringing synchronization to applications and explore how traditional telecoms synchronization distribution and open compute framework virtualization can be combined and managed. Register for the event beginning May 9.
