Opher Ronen to discuss PTP monitoring standardization at ISPCS conference

Presentation in Geneva to focus on latest PTP revision

  • Speakers: Opher Ronen, senior manager, R&D, time and frequency, Oscilloquartz
  • Topics: Enhanced accuracy metrics and extended monitoring options for Precision Time Protocol
  • When: Wednesday, October 3, 2:55 p.m.
  • Where: International IEEE Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization (ISPCS 2018), Special Industry Session, CERN campus, Geneva, Switzerland

Opher Ronen will review the new monitoring options incorporated into the draft of the upcoming revision of the Precision Time Protocol. Oscilloquartz has been contributing to how these options are defined, with the aim of enabling standardized continuous moni-toring of PTP instances and networks during deployment and enhancing their testability. In his presentation, Opher will review these options and their possible utilizations. Spe-cial focus will be given to the option to distribute enhanced accuracy metrics via a TLV, and its significance to PTP network monitoring and operation.
