OSA 5412
Reliable synchronization at the network edge
As mobile networks evolve toward LTE Advanced Pro and 5G, operators require highly accurate synchronization at the network edge to support mobile backhaul, fronthaul and time-sensitive applications across critical infrastructure. At the same time, industries including finance, transportation, utilities and broadcast networks are becoming increasingly dependent on resilient synchronization architectures and precise timing distribution. The edgeSync™ OSA 5412 gateway PTP grandmaster is engineered to deliver resilient timing distribution, synchronization conversion and time-as-a-service capabilities across modern packet networks. Supporting IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), SyncE and high-performance NTP services, the platform combines advanced synchronization technologies, integrated GNSS reception and flexible timing interfaces to support both next-generation and legacy synchronization architectures.
Resilient timing
Advanced ePRTC algorithms, multi-source timing and ultra-long holdover capabilities help maintain resilient synchronization during GNSS disruptions and degraded operating conditions.
With its compact small-form-factor design, the OSA 5412 delivers exceptional space and power efficiency while maintaining high-performance synchronization capabilities.
High-accuracy synchronization
Precision timing for critical infrastructure
The OSA 5412 combines advanced clock technologies with Oscilloquartz’s proven synchronization algorithms to deliver precise and resilient synchronization across packet-based networks. Supporting IEEE 1588 PTP, SyncE and NTP with hardware timestamping and 1Gbit/s and 10Gbit/s interfaces, the platform efficiently distributes and converts timing across mobile backhaul, fronthaul and critical infrastructure environments. The OSA 5412 serves a wide range of timing-critical industries and applications, including 5G mobile and telecom networks, defense and mission-critical systems, data centers and cloud infrastructure, smart grids and power utilities, transportation networks, financial trading infrastructure and broadcast environments. Integrated GNSS reception, improved ePRTC algorithms, multi-source timing references and automatic clock selection help maintain synchronization continuity during GNSS disruptions and challenging operating conditions. Support for multi-source ePRTC architectures, White Rabbit PTP and advanced synchronization assurance provides additional resilience for modern synchronization networks.
Sync assurance
Integrated Syncjack™ technology provides built-in synchronization monitoring, testing and assurance capabilities, helping operators measure timing accuracy, analyze PTP network performance and detect synchronization degradations before network services are affected.
